The Great Circus of Democracy

India is the largest democracy in the world yet we are still trailing behind the likes of an autocratic country such as China, where personal liberty is more often a joke than anything else. So why are we lagging behind who is to blame. The most common answer would be the politician’s.

Yet a smart man would admit that it’s us the voters itself because we are unable to elect the right leader more often than nought we end up electing the wrong leader and the few good leaders we elect are unable to remain efficient because of the influence of their peers. That is why the as the whole nation celebrates the appointment of narendra modi as the prime minster, who promises development and growth.

I still remain one of the sceptics who will wait to see whether those promises will be delivered upon. The fact that he is off to good start is beyond question,his visits to foreign countries such as USA and Japan have been extremely successful. Since his appointment our rupee value has increased several burecratic inefficiencies have been wiped out of memories.

Truly we can do better truly we can be the superpower we were destined to be. I an the rest of the world sincerely hope so.
